Our goal is not to displace global coffee or coffee farmers. We are here to present a solution for coffee lovers and their increased demand over time. Coffee consumption worldwide is growing faster than the coffee growing output will be capable of supplying. Atomo helps offset the decrease in traditional coffee production caused by changing climate conditions that are forcing much of the coffee industry to expand their growing areas which leads to deforestation and increased water consumption. By offering an alternative planet friendly coffee solution, Atomo™ created a new way for the world to keep enjoying the beverage.

Atomo’s sustainability claims are powered by HowGood. HowGood is an independent
research company and SaaS platform that provides sustainability intelligence
for food companies to measure, improve, and communicate their impact. Atomo partnered with HowGood to provide data-backed, quantified measurements for transparent communication on our product
environmental footprint.
Atomo’s sustainability claims are calculated based on the percent difference between the impacts of Atomo’s Coachella Latte Blend Regular Espresso Grounds and Conventional Coffee.
Conventional Coffee is represented by a weighted average of the environmental impact of Arabica coffee sourced from thirteen top coffee producing countries (which represent 91% of global coffee production). Each country’s impact is weighted according to their respective share of global Arabica green
coffee production.
The life cycle analysis metrics underlying our sustainability claims are based on the measurement of Land Occupation (Cradle-to-farm gate) and Greenhouse Gas
Emissions (Cradle-to-manufacturing gate) on HowGood’s Latis platform. For definitions of land occupation and Greenhouse Gas
Emissions, see other FAQs. For additional details on the impact metrics, see HowGood’s Land Occupation and Carbon Lifecycle
Methodology webpages.
HowGood reviewed and validated our product and the comparative product to ensure that the data used is accurate and the calculations are methodologically sound. Partnering with HowGood provides third-party validation of the impact of our
products, enabling stakeholders to confidently make informed decisions.
